Our Services

SUPPORTING HEALTHIER SMILES FROM INFANCY THROUGH ADOLESCENCE

Having a dental home means your child is seen by the same dental team at each visit. We’ll get to know your child and, at their regular appointments, their dentist will monitor the teeth, bite, and overall oral development as they grow. More importantly, they will get to know us and familiarize themselves with the dental office. You can be sure the team at Smile Shoppe Pediatric Dentistry Rogers takes great care to ensure kids feel comfortable and supported throughout each visit.

Digital X-rays are used when needed to help our team assess and diagnose. These images provide detailed information while using lower levels of radiation compared to traditional radiographs. Seeing our young patients on a regular basis allows our dentists to identify changes early and provide care as their development progresses.

Preventive Care

DAILY HABITS AND REGULAR VISITS SUPPORT HEALTHY TEETH

At Smile Shoppe Pediatric Dentistry Rogers, preventive care includes professional dental cleanings, evaluations, and education for kids and parents about home dental care. These preventive visits allow the dentists to closely monitor development and identify any early signs of decay or other concerns. Our team will also provide parents with tips and advice on brushing, flossing, and daily routines at each stage of their development.

Baby teeth play an important role in chewing, speech, and reserving space for the adult teeth to come into place. Keeping these teeth healthy helps to make sure development stays on track and reduces the risk of complications later.

Advanced Cavity Detection

USING TECHNOLOGY TO SUPPORT EARLY DIAGNOSIS

Smile Shoppe Pediatric Dentistry Rogers uses Overjet AI to review dental images as part of the diagnostic process. This technology assists our dentists by highlighting any areas of concern that might need further action before a treatment plan is created. This allows us to identify concerns earlier, when they are often simpler to manage.

Fluoride and Hydroxyapatite Treatments

SUPPORT FOR THE ENAMEL

Fluoride varnish may be recommended to help strengthen your child’s enamel and reduce their risk of decay. It is a safe treatment that helps restore minerals to the enamel surface.

Hydroxyapatite is also available as a fluoride-free option. This mineral is a natural component of enamel and can be used to support tooth structure and mineral balance. Fluoride-free toothpaste options are also available for families who prefer to avoid fluoride. If your child requires treatment, our dentists will discuss these options with you.

Conservative Approaches to Managing Decay

A VARIETY OF EARLY TREATMENT OPTIONS AVAILABLE

When early signs of decay are identified, treatment may be recommended to protect the tooth and prevent progression of decay. Options may include dental sealants, silver diamine fluoride, Curodont, tooth-colored fillings, and dental bonding. What option is best suited to your child will depend on the condition of their tooth and their age and stage of development. It is always our team’s goal to manage decay as early as possible and to preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible.

Dental Crowns for Kids

PROTECTING TEETH WITH MORE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE

When a tooth has more advanced decay or severe damage, a dental crown may be needed to restore function and protect the remaining tooth structure. Stainless steel crowns are commonly used for their durability and full coverage, especially for molars, as they are strong and can withstand the demands of chewing exceptionally well.

Esthetic options are also available, including zirconia or esthetic-coated stainless steel crowns. Your child’s dentist will present the options and provide recommendations to you so you can choose the most appropriate approach based on your child’s individual needs.

Sedation and Hospital Dentistry

WHEN SUPPORT FOR COMPLEX TREATMENT IS NEEDED

Some children benefit from sedation during dental treatment. Options available include nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, or IV sedation administered by a certified registered nurse anesthetist. Patients are monitored throughout their procedure and during recovery.

Sedation may be recommended for children who feel anxious, have difficulty tolerating treatment, or require more extensive care. For more complex needs, hospital dentistry is available. This allows treatment to be completed in a hospital setting when a child requires a higher level of care.

The need for sedation or hospital-based care is determined based on the child’s age, level of comfort, and the complexity of treatment. Your child’s dentist will review these factors with you to decide on the safest and most appropriate path forward.

Baby’s First Visit

EARLY DENTAL EVALUATION AND GUIDANCE FOR PARENTS

At Smile Shoppe Pediatric Dentistry Rogers, infant visits are often completed using a knee-to-knee approach. The child sits on a parent’s lap while the dentist performs a gentle evaluation. This position helps your child feel secure and comfortable while the dentist checks inside the mouth.

During this visit, our dentists look at a child’s early development, including the teeth, gums, and oral structures. They may also assess airway and function, as well as look for any early signs of concern that could affect growth.

Our team is equipped to give parents of infants advice on hygiene, feeding, and daily care. This includes what to expect as teeth erupt and how to support healthy habits at home. Fluoride options and alternatives are also discussed so families can choose an approach that aligns with their preferences.

Early visits with your baby help them become gradually familiar with the dental office. This can make future visits easier and reduce any dental-related anxiety as children grow.
